The internet-based Supply Chain Management optimised your entire purchasing processes. You receive the required goods without delay and are therefore able to deliver in a flexible and timely manner yourselves. The positive chain reaction produces a high level of customer loyalty and certain follow-up orders. Thanks to interactive communication and information available online, your authorised suppliers are always well informed about current stock levels. Where there is a requirement, they respond in good time and on their own initiative. In this process the medium of the internet replaces time-consuming and inefficient communication via telephone and fax to a large extent by a continuous and transparent flow of data.

Delegation is one important element of supplier integration. Because with your purchase order you are delegating certain activities to your business partners, which they then execute directly in your SAP system. This eliminates the need to enter purchase order confirmations and shipping notifications on the system for instance. It reduces the buyer's workload in the day-to-day operation and creates space for carrying out important strategic tasks such as supplier selection and evaluation as well as price negotiations.
